The specifications of Asus Padfone 2 are yet to be revealed. But according to a friend, who works at Asus’ sales department, the device will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset with quad-core processor and 2GB RAM to make sure processes are faster. While everyone wants to see Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on this device, it’s not possible.
Google and ASUS had an agreement that Google Nexus 7 should be given the priority to showcase the latest Android version. For those who don’t know yet, Google Nexus 7 was built by ASUS for Google.
But one thing is for sure though, Jelly Bean update would be rolled out a few weeks after this device was released. Or, at least, Asus will try to cram it this year to make its product more competitive for the holidays.
Stay tuned as I and Tony will be attending the launching in Italy. Hopefully we will be given a chance to do hands-on and review.
