Being a flagship device, Optimus G has been given importance. The fact is, it is the company’s first quad-core device using Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz Krait. This system-on-chip (SOC) comes with integrated Adreno 320 graphics processor allows the company to put on whatever new display technology it has in store. In this case, its new device will be showcasing True HD-IPS LCD screen with 768 x 1280 pixels resolution stretched on a 4.7-inch panel offering up to 318ppi pixel density.
Basically, the phone comes packed with impressive hardware specs adorned with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system while using the company’s own Optimus UI version 3.0. LG also shared its plan on rolling out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update soon after the release. So, there would be a major update coming to new owners. Analysts believe LG couldn’t afford to delay its JB update because it is trying to acquire a bigger chunk in the Android market.
Among other rumors being circulated around the web just recently is that LG Optimus G will become the Google Nexus 4 but neither the manufacturer nor the search titan confirmed it. This rumor should have started after reports suggesting that the next Nexus will be built by LG reached the mainstream online media.
Just a couple of days ago, LG uploaded the official teaser of the device on YouTube with a catch phrase, “Catch the Giant within.” To recap, the video tells of how superb the performance of this device will be focusing more on the fact that it comes with a quad-core processor. The video quality and massive battery were also mentioned. Overall, the device offers what other mid-range devices cannot.
