Method 1: Capturing Screenshots with the Device Keys

Method 2: Capturing Screenshots with Motion Gestures

Another way to capture a screenshot on the Note Edge is through its Motion Gestures function. This is made possible with the ‘Palm Swipe to Capture Screenshot’ gesture option supported by this Note device.


1. Touch Apps from the Home screen.
2. Touch Settings.
3. Touch Motions and gestures.
4. Touch Palm swipe to capture.
5. To enable the feature, touch the OFF slider next to Palm swipe to capture. Doing so will switch it to ON and activates Palm swipe on your device.
6. Once enabled, you can start capturing a screenshot by touching the screen with the side of your hand and then swiping across from left to right, or vice versa.

Method 3: Capturing screenshots with the S Pen

The Galaxy Note Edge also comes with the S Pen that is utilized for different purposes, including taking screenshots. You can also add some notes or drawings to the screenshot, and then save or share it using Air Command and the S Pen.


1. Hold the S Pen about a quarter-inch above the device’s screen to open Air Command.

2. Next, press the button on your S Pen. Doing so will get you to the Air Command panel.

3. Use your S Pen to touch ‘Screen write’ option.

4. Once the screenshot has been taken, you can start editing it using the toolbar located at the top of the screen. The editing tools you can use are represented with different icons, such as Draw, Erase or Crop tools. Simply touch the icons you want to use and touch them again to view the settings you may want to configure for each tool.

5. Once you’re done editing the screenshot, touch the Check icon to save notes or edits to the Screenshots folder inside Gallery.

6. If you want to share the screenshot, touch the Share icon and select any of the available sharing options.

Note: Sharing options may differ based on installed applications and turned on features on the device.

By default, the Air Command feature is ON. If you happen to turn it off, just follow these steps to turn it back ON:

Viewing Screenshots on the Galaxy Note Edge

1. Swipe from the top of the screen down to the bottom to open the Notification Panel.

You can use any of the following options when viewing a screenshot.

  1. Change player icon – to view the screenshot on a nearby compatible DLNA enabled device.
  2. Share via icon – to share the screenshot with one of the available sharing options.
  3. Camera icon – to open/launch the Camera app.
  4. Delete icon – to delete or remove the screenshot.

  • Studio – to edit the screenshot using Photo studio or Video clip studio.
  • Set as – to set the screenshot as Home screen wallpaper, Contact photo, or wallpaper for the Home and lock screens.
  • Print – to print the screenshots using any available printer through a wireless network, a USB cable or Wi-Fi Direct.
  • Settings – to view or edit settings in the Gallery.
