Another option to free up internal memory space is by moving or transferring some apps to the memory card or external storage. Just ensure your memory card has enough space to allocate all files/apps that you are going to transfer.

Every application has cache of temporary files that may also take up memory space. Clearing the application cache from larger apps is therefore recommended, to free up space of your phone’s internal memory. Be sure to clear only the application cache and not the application data. Doing the latter will remove your personal settings and information, including login details. Clearing of the application cache will not remove your personal settings or information.

2. Tap Settings.

D. Perform a soft reset on your phone.

When you do a soft reset, temporary files will be erased from your phone’s internal memory, thus can help free up space.

A soft reset is done by turning your phone off, removing the battery for 30 seconds, then re-insert the battery, and then turn the phone back on.

Low memory issues can be triggered by having too many apps running or installed on your Galaxy S5.

To prevent internal memory issues to occur on your device is by clearing your application cache from time to time.

Updating device software to the latest version can also help optimize your phone’s performance.
