How To Manage Internal Storage On Galaxy S4 [Uninstall Bloatware]

If you’re an owner of the 16GB variant of the Galaxy S4, you must be one of the people who complained about bloatware Samsung put into its flagship, which are taking almost half of the device’s internal storage. It seemed like many were shocked about such fact but enthusiasts already expected that the new features would definitely eat up some space. Advanced users can easily solve this problem by rooting their device to get rid of these bloatware. Average users, however, are left with no option but to disable some features to prevent them from accumulating data.

One way to manage internal storage in Galaxy S4 is to disable or hide some apps and services. Doing so will not uninstall them, however, they couldn’t perform updates and they will be hidden from the app drawer. Here’s how you disable an application:
  1. From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
  2. Choose Settings.
  3. Tap More tab.
  4. Choose Application Manager.
  5. Tap All tab.
  6. Find the app you want to disable and tap on it.
  7. Once inside the app’s manager, tap Disable and then OK.
Or, you can try this:
  1. Tap Apps.
  2. Tap and hold an icon and drag it over App Info on the bottom of the screen.
  3. You can now tap on Disable button.
Here’s another way:
  1. Pull the Galaxy S4 notification bar down.
  2. Tap on the cog to go to Settings => Apps.
  3. Choose the app you want disabled and then on Disable button.
Here is the list of Galaxy S4 apps that are safe to hide, delete or disabled.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In case your phone becomes a little off after you’ve disabled a service or an app, try rebooting it first to see if it would work fine. Otherwise, Enable the app back.

DISCLAIMER: We have tested disabling each of these apps / services and we know on our end it’s safe. However, we cannot guarantee that it would be the same on your end as our phone may have a different setup from yours. Be mindful of the apps you disable so you can remember which one to enable when the phone starts acting crazy. This list is a recommendation and we don’t and can’t force you to disable any one of them. But you can do so at your own risk.
